Sunbay Hotel 100% Bajan & Family Owned

Welcome to the Sunbay Hotel! Nestled along the Maxwell Coast Road in the south of the island is a 100-room property which may be best described as a tropical oasis. Says General Manager, Adam Broome, “The main feature of the property is our pools, the surrounding gardens and the foliage makes it feel like an oasis.”

The newly rebranded operation swung open its doors in 2012 under the name Sunbay Hotel. Guests are largely drawn from the UK market, as is typical with much of the accommodation in Barbados. However, the staff of forty also host a number of persons locally, from the Caricom; the US and even as far as Scandinavia. There is little on the island that can eclipse Barbados’ beaches, so you will be pleased to know that Sunbay is just across the street from the beachfront.

All guests have island-styled rooms with private balconies, cable TV, a mini fridge and air conditioning. You may also choose from a queen-sized, two double or king sized bedding arrangement. Free WIFI is available property-wide, so you can remain connected even while on a retreat.

What is different about the Sunbay Hotel? Well for starters, it is one hundred percent Barbadian owned. It is a family business. It has one of the largest kiddie pools on the island so the entire family can enjoy themselves in safety. They have also been able to distinguish themselves on TripAdvisor by executing their three pillars well, namely:

-Value for money

-Cleanliness

-Friendliness of staff

What do guest have to say? Here is an example:

Excellent Value for money

“This is a great hotel for the price. Our room was spacious, clean, it had fitted wardrobes with full length mirrors, hairdryer (which worked great), fridge & a balcony. The staff were friendly, enjoyed breakfast every morning, & the pool area was great and kept clean. Very close to a lovely beach.”

The sports bar and restaurant is opened to the public and serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Commencing on April 16, and for the entire summer season, a special breakfast will be served every Sunday. The price point of this meal promises to appeal to the budget conscious family, with no compromise on quality.

Are you in need of a romantic getaway? Currently, the hotel is offering a two-night staycation package for two persons with meals included for just six hundred Barbados dollars! You will be hearing a lot more of Sunbay in time to come, but as with all good things, you would need to book early so you do not miss your opportunity. Start planning your vacation today at the Sunbay Hotel, the friendly staff is waiting to welcome you!
